Among the nation’s most respected crisis communications and reputational risk strategists, Erik has participated in some of the highest profile, high-stakes crisis communications issues in recent history, including a number of significant corporate cyber security incidents.

Erik is a corporate communications leader with more than 15 years of experience managing integrated communications strategies that protect brands, mitigate reputational risk, and advance business strategies.He has also provided strategic communications counsel to many corporate brands such as Starbucks, PayPal, The Dow Chemical Company, REI and NRG Energy.

For three years, Erik led the Issues and Hotline teams for Starbuck Coffee Company, coordinating daily reactive communications for store-level incidents and strategic response for corporate-level concerns.

He also restructured incident response protocols to create a best-in-class system that could respond to every potential incident within 30 minutes and provide comprehensive messaging pull-through in media engagements.

Erik has managed dozens of cybersecurity preparedness and incident response projects, including providing on-site services for the 2017 Equifax data breach team to manage social and traditional media responses.

Erik was most recently the interim lead of the Pacific Northwest, Corporate & Public Affairs group for Edelman and the Western Region lead of Edelman’s U.S Crisis and Risk group. In that role he supported Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts for the Western Region staff to create employee diversity opportunities.

At Resolute, Erik works with both Resolute Public Affairs and Resolute CyberStrategies clients to advance business strategies, prepare organizations on mission-critical issues from DEI to Cyber breaches, and develop long-term reputational management campaigns to mitigate risks in crisis or cyber incidents.
