University of Oregon offers new major focusing on cybersecurity

With an increasing number of cyber-attacks, the University of Oregon is now offering a degree in cybersecurity. Industry professionals are giving high praise to the University of Oregon for the new major.
One of the agencies present at the Summit was Resolute Strategic Services who specializes in cybersecurity services. Executive Vice President Neil Simon said cybersecurity is an essential consideration.
“I think that it’s essential that universities have cybersecurity as a major and it’s super exciting to see the university of Oregon and other universities stepping into this space,” Simon said. “The more you are aware of cyber security, it makes you more valuable to that organization.”
